Our Powered & Unpowered Campsites
Camping in Nature
Site Map
To access the campsite, you will travel down a track beside Discovery Lagoon, which depending on the time of year and seasonal rainfall, could be totally dry or full of water and teaming with bird life competing for nest sites on the dead trees, which are scattered across its surface.
Our camp sites are set in natural bushland, nestled between native gum trees on the perimeter of the picturesque lagoon.
Our sites are flat and spacious. Shade is all around from the various trees, but there is also ample sunlight for charging of solar panels etc if required.
There is a limit of 2 vehicles to each site which includes the caravan or trailer tent, i.e. 1 car/Ute & 1 caravan/trailer tent or 1 roof top tent & 1 additional car etc.
The sites are all within a reasonable distance of the amenities block, laundry and camp kitchen, which are central to the campsite.
The caravan sites all have access to clean drinking water and there is a range of unpowered and powered sites available (site # 29 – #36 are all powered sites).
Generators are allowed between the hours of 8am and 8pm, but we ask that you consider the other campers and our neighbours by not running the generators for any longer than is necessary.
The nearest dump point is located at Brownlow, which is a free public dump point approximately 15 – 20 mins from the campsite in Kingscote.
The amenities block is spacious with timed hot showers (run on gas) which are included in the booking price, toilets & sinks along with a set of 5 lockable power boxes (bring your own padlock) for recharging your mobile devices in both the male & female blocks.
Hairdryers or other electrical equipment with heating elements are not allowed within the amenities block & other buildings, as they are totally off grid.
The laundry has a coin operated, cold water wash only, washing machine and sink, small loads only, with an area outside set up for hanging out washing if required.
The camp kitchen is fully stocked with 2 BBQ’s, 2 gas rings with kettles, pots, pans and BBQ cutlery.
There is a large fridge with a freezer for campers to use if required. The fridge is cleaned daily, and any food you leave in the fridge should be covered and have your name, campsite and date of departure attached to it or it will be removed for hygiene reasons.
There is an undercover hot water sink for pot washing and a vertical herb garden beside the camp kitchen for all to use.
Out of fire danger season, comfort fires are permitted and the campsite has several fire pits available for hire to campers if required. It is a fire safety requirement that all fire pits must be off the ground, all firewood should be purchased locally and brought on site. All ashes should be placed in the metal bins located throughout the campsite when leaving, not scattered on the ground.
The campsite is dog friendly at managers discretion with a 1 dog per site policy. Please refer to the dog policy for further details.
